This completed story is a P&P what if starting at the end of chapter Twenty-six of P&P. It’s the end of January, Jane is in Town and has seen a very cold Miss Bingley twice. Mr. Bingley is reported to be courting Miss Darcy and Jane is both quite unhappy and resigned. Lizzy is still in Longbourn and is waiting for her trip to Kent in two months time. Mr. Darcy and the Bingley sisters have concealed to Mr. Bingley that Jane is in London. But what if Mr. Bingley plant reseller had been Mr. Gardiner?
